Plumbers in Leeds

A dripping tap, a toilet that will not stop running, radiators that stay cold at the top, weak pressure upstairs, or a burst pipe in the middle of winter. Plumbing jobs range from ten-minute fixes to complete heating systems, and nearly all of them get worse if they are left.

Small repairs can be booked on their own. Larger plumbing, such as a new bathroom or radiators for an extension, is priced as part of the wider job so the pipework, electrics and plastering are planned together.

Scope of work

  • Leaks, burst pipes and dripping taps
  • Toilets, cisterns and waste pipes
  • Radiators moved, added or replaced
  • Power flushing and balancing heating systems
  • Outside taps and garden water
  • Kitchen and bathroom plumbing
  • Boiler work by Gas Safe registered engineers

Things not to leave

  • Water marks on a ceiling under a bathroom
  • Radiators cold at the top (air) or at the bottom (sludge)
  • The pressure gauge on a combi boiler keeps dropping
  • Slow drains and gurgling plugholes

How the job is handled

If water is coming through, turn it off at the stop tap first. In most Leeds houses it is under the kitchen sink, but in older terraces it is often down in the cellar.

Any work on gas appliances, including boilers and gas fires, is carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer, as the law requires.

In Leeds

Plenty of Leeds terraces still have a cellar with old lead or iron pipework running through it, and a hot water cylinder that has long outlived its boiler. Those get flagged at the survey even when you have only called about a tap.

FAQs

Plumbing & Heating questions

Can you move a radiator?

Yes. Moving or adding radiators is common during refurbishments and extensions. The survey checks the pipe runs and whether the boiler can take the extra load.

Why are my radiators cold at the top?

Usually air in the system, which bleeding the radiator fixes. Cold at the bottom normally means sludge, which may need a power flush.

Do you work on boilers?

Boiler and gas work is carried out only by Gas Safe registered engineers. Ask to see the engineer's Gas Safe ID card when they arrive; it can be checked on the Gas Safe Register website.

What should I do if a pipe bursts?

Turn the water off at the stop tap, switch off the electrics if water is near sockets or lights, then call us. Opening the cold taps drains the system down while you wait.
